Montreal, January 26, 2006- The Commission des services juridiques wishes to inform the public that, effective immediately, the income schedule amounts for determining legal aid eligibility will be increased.
The following income levels will determine eligibility for services at no charge:
Category of Applicant : Maximum Annual Income
Applicants belonging to one of the following family units:
- Adult + 1 child : 13 186 $
- Adult + 2 or more children : 15 403 $
- Spouses without children : 13 622 $
- Spouses + 1 child : 16 057 $
- Spouses + 2 or more chidren : 18 274 $
Legal aid is also available, upon payment of a contribution ranging between $100 and $800, to single persons earning a maximum of $13,816 and to families with two children earning up to $26,041.
